Introduction to Current Transmitters

February 28th at 4:23pm

There are two types of current transmitters: DC current transmitters and AC current transmitters. AC current transmitter is an instrument that can convert the measured AC current into a linear proportional output DC voltage or DC current. The product is widely used in electrical equipment, automatic control, and scheduling systems in departments such as power, postal and telecommunications, petroleum, coal, metallurgy, railways, and municipal administration. AC current and voltage transmitters have a single or triple combination structure, characterized by:

1. High accuracy (typical: 0.2%, preferably 0.05%);

2. The entire range has extremely high linearity;

3. The high degree of integration, simple structure, excellent temperature characteristics, and long-term working stability make the transmitter exempt from regular calibration.

The DC current transmitter converts the measured signal into a voltage, which is directly transformed into a voltage that has an excellent linear relationship with the measured signal and is completely isolated by the HCNR200/201 linear optocoupler. It is then output at a constant voltage (current). It has the advantages of very simple principles, refined circuit design, high reliability, and convenient installation.

The current transmitter can directly convert the AC current in the tested main circuit into a DC 4-20mA output in linear proportion (converted to DC 1-5V through a 250 Ω resistor or DC 2-10V through a 500 Ω resistor) constant current loop standard signal, which is continuously transmitted to the receiving device (computer or display instrument).

The primary and secondary sides of the current transmitter are highly insulated and isolated, and there are two wire and three wire output wiring methods. The three wire transmitter has an auxiliary power supply+24V positive and negative terminals, as well as a signal output terminal;

Current transmitters have characteristics such as high accuracy, small size, low power consumption, wide frequency response, and anti-interference. Four compensation measures and six comprehensive protection functions have been pioneered in China. The two wire ports have strong anti induction lightning capabilities and have advantages such as lightning wave and surge protection. Specially suitable for intelligent monitoring systems of load currents such as generators, motors, intelligent low-voltage distribution cabinets, air conditioners, fans, and street lights.

The current transmitter has ultra-low power consumption, with a single static power consumption of 0.096W and a full range power consumption of 0.48W. The internal limiting power consumption of the output current is 0.6W.
